Intense and unconventional creative process

The retreat program is intense, in terms of creative work, and physical and energetic practice. In combination with healthy food, beautiful nature and peace, storytellers are invited into a different kind of development process that engages and inspires on all levels.

The retreats will be back in 2023/24.

Fractal Volcano Creative Retreats are a result of the collaboration between myself and Sarah O’Connor, the programme director at MindFlowYoga,
a 500-hour teacher certification program in England.

Together we have designed an unconventional creative process done in a retreat over 5-7 days.

The retreats are designed to support a more in-depth story development process that brings the creators out of the noise of their minds into an explosion of direct experience. It acts as a compass.

The point is to recognise, with one’s whole being, what is authentic and allow it to direct the story.

In order to delve far deeper than a typical brainstorm would lead to, the retreats are an opportunity to create in collaboration with our truthful non-verbal selves.

In-depth coaching and story development are combined with powerful body-centred methods that can take us beyond our usual thinking.

Breathwork

One of the main body-centred features of the retreat is the intense energy body breathwork developed by Sarah O’Connor through 25 years of experience working with practices from Tibetan Buddhist, Bön, and Indian lineages.

Together, Sarah and I guide storytellers through a process that opens them to expanded states of consciousness. Equally important, we help with the integration of the experience in a grounded way.

The material that comes up is both highly personal and universal. It is full of life, honesty, and power. When allowed to inform the story at hand, it adds freshness, depth, and undeniable authenticity.
